Hi, I'm Chelsea, and this a portfolio of my travel photography. I discovered my passion for photography mid-2015, roaming the local souqs during my year stationed in Bahrain. A friend of mine translated my Nikon D3200, with all its DSLR features, into the weapon it truly is, and since then I've been hooked; I became a permanent fixture behind my viewfinder. I have since transitioned to a Canon 6D, which I shoot with today.
Throughout my travels, I enjoy capturing candid, irretrievable moments on photo: the wispy summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro from Karanga Camp, an Arab father being affectionate with his young daughter, ducks on a foggy Lake Poway on an early morning, the breath-taking scene of the Patagonian ice field while hiking the W trek on a rare, clear day in Torres del Paine... and so on.
Whether it be through written word, photography, or film, I am ultimately drawn to the art of story-telling that inspires awe, humanity, or both. I am a writer by education, but admittedly I am hooked to creating art in a click of a shutter. Must be a generational thing.
